Introduction
Receeto is built with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. We believe your financial data is deeply personal and should stay entirely under your control.
Receeto processes everything on your device. Your receipts, expenses, and financial data never leave your phone. There are no servers, no accounts, and no tracking.
This policy explains what data Receeto does and does not collect, and how your information stays private.
Information We Do Not Collect
Receeto does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
- Receipt images or any data extracted from your receipts
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Contacts, photos (beyond receipts you choose to scan), or other device data
- Usage analytics, behavioral data, or browsing activity
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
Receeto does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no registration process and no personal data is ever requested.
On-Device Processing
All of Receeto's AI-powered features run entirely on your device:
- Receipt scanning and OCR uses Apple's on-device machine learning frameworks
- Data extraction (merchant name, amount, date, category) is processed locally
- Expense categorization happens on-device using built-in models
- Spending analytics are computed from your locally-stored data
No internet connection is required for any of these features. Receeto works fully offline.
Apple Services
As an iOS app distributed through the Apple App Store, the following may apply:
- Crash reports: Apple may collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostics to help improve app stability. You can opt out of this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements on your device.
- App Store: Apple handles all App Store transactions and interactions according to Apple's Privacy Policy.
These data collection activities are governed by Apple, not Receeto. We do not receive any personal data from Apple.
Data Storage & Security
- All your data is stored locally on your device in the app's private, sandboxed storage
- Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security measures, including device passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and hardware encryption
- Uninstalling Receeto permanently deletes all data stored by the app
- If you use iCloud device backups, your standard backup may include Receeto's app data per your iCloud settings. This is managed by Apple's iCloud service, not by Receeto
Children's Privacy
Since Receeto does not collect personal information from any user, there is no special treatment needed for children's data. The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 or any other age group.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be noted in App Store update descriptions.
